Amanda Starling is a seasoned finance professional with over a decade of experience in accounting and financial operations across both public and private sectors. A native of Beaufort, North Carolina, Amanda earned her Bachelor of Science in Communications with a concentration in Media Studies from East Carolina University. Even before graduating, her leadership and organizational abilities were recognized when she accepted a full-time role within ECU’s College of Business, working alongside the accounting department. She remained there for five years, developing a strong foundation in business and financial administration.
After five years of service at ECU, Amanda returned home to Beaufort, where her accounting career took a new turn at the North Carolina State Port Authority. There, she managed accounts payable and payroll, further honing her financial expertise. A move to the Triangle region brought her to Winter Custom Yachts as a bookkeeper, followed by a high-impact role at Impact Fulfillment Services in Burlington. At IFS, Amanda managed accounts receivable for nationally recognized brands including P&G, Energizer, Revlon, Elmer’s Glue, and Elizabeth Arden.
After years of commuting from Apex to Burlington, Amanda transitioned to a more local role at Brookwood Farms, a leading name in the BBQ industry and a proud supplier of barbecue to The Masters tournament. There, she worked closely with the finance group on accounts receivable for the family-owned business. Her next step led her to Thomas, Judy and Tucker, where she continued her finance journey in the nonprofit sector.
In 2025, Amanda fulfilled a personal and professional milestone by accepting her dream role as Director of Finance for Hodge & Kittrell Sotheby’s International Realty. Based in Raleigh, she now leads financial operations at one of North Carolina’s premier real estate firms.
Outside of work, Amanda is a dedicated wife to Van and mother to three daughters, as well as a proud dog mom to Sunny, the family cockapoo. An accomplished runner, she has completed 38 full marathons (on her mission to run one in every U.S. state) and numerous half marathons. She is also a pace group leader for local races and an active member of Females in Action (FiA), where she serves as the Philanthropy Chair. On Sunday mornings, you’ll find her welcoming guests as a door greeter at Apex Baptist Church—always with a smile and a servant’s heart.
