Through spring and summer, the Apex Underground Market came to Sweetwater Town Center about once a month. The 2026 schedule ran March 14, April 11, May 2, June 13, July 11, August 8 and September 12. Then October 10 was cancelled. That leaves one date for the rest of the year, Saturday, November 14, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and the organizer's 2026 list ends there.
As of late October, Sweetwater's own events calendar has no other listings for November or December. On the U.S. 64 side of Apex, November 14 is effectively the fall season. The market fills four hours. The coffee bars, delis, dessert shops and taproom around it are what turn those four hours into a full Saturday.
A monthly habit comes down to one date
The October gap also stretched the break. After the September 12 market, the next one comes nine weeks later. Over the summer, the gap between dates was about four weeks. The MAKRS Society runs the market as a free monthly market-and-concert series. Its page lists 30-plus local vendors, live bands and what it calls a "Mini Food Truck Rodeo."
Here is what the organizer lists for the day:
- Date and time: Saturday, November 14, 2026, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Cost: free to attend
- Location: Sweetwater Town Center, which the organizer gives as 2705 Lawnview Lane
- Format: local makers' booths, live bands and food trucks
A few listings outside the organizer's site carry slightly different details, including a December date. The MAKRS Society's market page is the one to check the week of the event. Its RSVP form also offers a newsletter sign-up for future market news.
Before 11: Richardson Road opens the day
The market runs 11 to 3, and plenty of shops nearby are open before the first band starts. On Richardson Road, Sweetwater's directory lists Foxtail Coffee at 1451 Richardson Road and Fratelli's Delicatessen at 1481 Richardson Road, Suite 107. SoBol is at 1451 Richardson Road, Suite 124 and Mi Cancun is in the same building at Suite 105.
So you can get a coffee from Foxtail before the market and pick up a deli sandwich from Fratelli's on the way to your car after it. The food trucks feed the crowd during the market, and these shops cover the time on either side.
After 3: where the afternoon goes
When the vendors pack up at 3, the Saturday can carry on at the restaurants on Lawnview Lane, Stokesdale and Teachey Place, a short walk from the market. Sweetwater's directory lists them this way:
| Where | Business | What it is |
|---|---|---|
| 2701 Lawnview Lane, Suite 103 | Taki Sushi and Grill | Sushi |
| 2701 Lawnview Lane, Suite 108 | Aqua Vitae | Cocktail and mocktail bar |
| 2701 Lawnview Lane, Suite 120 | Burney's Sweets & More | Sweets |
| 2700 Stokesdale Ave., Unit 120 | KAARA Modern Indian Restaurant | Indian |
| 2700 Stokesdale, Suite 118 | Mama Bird's Ice Cream | Ice cream |
| 2820 Teachey Place | Greek Kouzina | Greek |
| 2826 Teachey Place | Peace, Love & Little Donuts | Doughnuts |
| 2832 Teachey Place | Al's Burger Shack | Burgers |
| 950 Windy Road, Suite 100 | Southern Peak Brewery | Taproom and pizzeria |
Taki Sushi and Grill is the newest name on Lawnview Lane. The Peak Weekly reported it open in its February 5, 2026 issue. Several of its neighbors are just as close to the market. Aqua Vitae, two doors down in Suite 108, lists both cocktails and mocktails, which suits a group that includes drivers and people who don't drink. Southern Peak Brewery's directory profile describes a taproom with a pizzeria, so one stop covers both a beer and dinner.
With so many dessert shops on Teachey Place and Stokesdale, everyone in a group can get something different. Mama Bird's Ice Cream, Peace, Love & Little Donuts and Burney's Sweets & More are all on the same short stretch. Chun Yang Tea's directory listing posts weekday hours only, so save it for a visit during the week. Sweetwater last updated these directory profiles in the spring, so check hours before planning dinner around a specific spot.
A few minutes east, Beaver Creek is adding restaurants
The other half of west Apex's fall dining news is a short drive east along U.S. 64, in the Beaver Creek shopping centers. One new spot has opened there, and two more have been announced.
Grain & Berry opened on Saturday, October 10, at 2017 Creekside Landing Drive in Beaver Creek Crossings, the same day the October market would have run. The News & Observer reported that it is the brand's second North Carolina location, after a Holly Springs store that opened in October 2025. Its menu covers açaí bowls, smoothies, juices, wraps, salads and parfaits. Local franchisee Sudarshan Krish told the paper in a press release, "Having been part of this community for more than 10 years, I'm especially excited to serve my neighbors and friends."
Two more openings are announced but have no confirmed dates:
- Magic Sushi, an all-you-can-eat sushi and hibachi concept, is moving into the former Chili's at Beaver Creek Commons. When WRAL reported the sign on October 2, 2026, there was no word on a timeline.
- Legacy Rolls is opening a second location at 700 E. Williams St., in the former Yamato Steak, Seafood & Sushi Bar, and it will have a drive-through. BizFayetteville quoted the owner hoping to open within "the next month, month and a half." The News & Observer reported a soft-opening target of the end of October. Check its status before you go.
Of the three, Grain & Berry is the only one confirmed open for November 14. A morning açaí bowl at Creekside Landing on the way to Sweetwater makes a quick first stop.
After November 14
Once the market packs up on November 14, nothing else is listed at Sweetwater for the rest of 2026. Its events calendar shows no entries for November or December. Calendars do change, and the center's recent posts have included pop-up play dates, movie nights, live music and Peaktoberfest events. If anything else is added, the Sweetwater Town Center events page is where it will show up.
The market is done for 2026, but the restaurants keep going. Foxtail Coffee, Fratelli's, Taki, Aqua Vitae, KAARA, Greek Kouzina and Southern Peak Brewery all post regular hours in Sweetwater's directory, and Grain & Berry is new in Beaver Creek. The MAKRS Society's newsletter is where any future market dates will be announced.
