A native North Carolinian and graduate of North Carolina State University, Phil began his real estate career with the Sea Pines Company on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. Hilton Head was followed by an extended stay in Charlottesville, Virginia, where he was a member of the group that developed and opened Wintergreen Resort – Virginia’s Premier Blue Ridge Mountain Community. With the conclusion of Wintergreen, Phil returned to the coastal shores of South Carolina to join the Kiawah Island real estate team in Charleston. After eight years in Charleston, Phil and his family relocated to Chapel Hill, where he uses his vast real estate experience to focus on planned community development, condominium-townhome development and general brokerage sales.
Phil’s number-one goal, whether clients are buying or selling a property, has always been to provide prompt, reliable information and communications that allow them to make informed decisions about their real estate needs.
Phil’s wife, Janet Northen, is the executive vice president at McKinney advertising agency, and they have three grown children who live in Asheville, North Carolina; Charleston, South Carolina; and New York City. They’d be empty nesters if it wasn’t for Motie, their three-year-old Boykin Spaniel.
