Susan

An on air television personality at WRAL-TV 5 for decades, Susan moved to the Carolinas in 1980 to host an entertainment program called PM Magazine. During her career at the station, she traveled the world as their Entertainment Editor and produced many award winning programs, including an Emmy, as Executive Producer of the station. Trading in the broadcast spotlight for her love of homes, Susan’s career as a real estate broker immediately blossomed. Today, she is consistently ranked as one of the top producing agents at Hodge and Kittrell Sotheby’s International Realty. Her husband, John, a former home builder, her daughter Sarah, her assistant and colleague Brian Cosgriff all make up The Bashford Group, an innovative marketing team that guarantees results. Blending her love of homes with her love of art, Susan is also an accomplished artist. When she is not out selling homes, you will find Susan painting in one of the three bungalows she remodeled in the Raleigh Five Points area. Susan also serves on the board of the Realtor Giving Network, helping to end homelessness in Wake County.

Brian

John

A true born and raised Raleigh native, John Bashford grew up under the tutelage of his builder/developer father, Ryan Bashford. As a young man, he hammered away on homes throughout Wake County as his summer job. After graduating from East Carolina University, he decided to pursue that part-time passion as a full-time career. A winner of gold and silver award medals from the Home Builders Association, he became a respected boutique home builder in the 1980s. When the Bashford girls give him time off, you will find John either cruising in his 1973 Jeep Commando with his two white doodles in tow, strumming the guitar with his Americana band or hitting the links as an avid golfer. He will, however, quickly put down the clubs for your call. John would be happy to help you find your perfect home and share some history of growing up in our beautiful City of Oaks.
